Election in PR: Alexandre Curi leaves Ratinho Junior’s PSD – 04/02/2026 – Politics

Pre-candidate for the Government of , state deputy Alexandre Curi, currently in charge of the Legislative Assembly, left this Wednesday (1st) and joined the Republicans.

Curi is the second name to leave the governor’s PSDB staff for not having found the Iguaçu Palace.

Main leader of the acronym in Paraná, Ratinho Junior has not yet announced publicly, but since the beginning of his second term he has indicated that his favorite is Guto Silva, secretary of Cities.

The absence of a clear announcement about Guto Silva’s name has been linked to the secretary’s performance so far in voting intention polls. The group still does not see him as capable of facing the senator (PL), who has appeared in first place in the surveys.

Without Curi and also without Rafael Greca, who already existed, Ratinho Junior now focuses on trying to leverage Guto Silva’s name. On Tuesday night (31), the governor, listed as vice-president on a possible ticket headed by Guto Silva. She can also go to the Senate.

By abandoning the PSD ranks, Curi and Greca wanted to make it clear that they were not breaking with the governor, who is reaching the end of his term with high approval from the electorate. But both have the electoral strength to divide allies who until now have walked with Ratinho Junior.

Grandson of Aníbal Khury (1924-1999), who was one of the most powerful politicians in Paraná, Alexandre Curi is in his sixth term as state deputy. In 2022, he received the most votes for the Legislative Assembly.

In 2024, Curi toured Paraná and estimates that he will have at least 180 elected mayors supported by him, among 399 municipalities. In this year’s election, one of the names that could join the Republican ticket is Pedro Lupion, federal deputy and president of the Agricultural Parliamentary Front. Lupion has his eyes on the Senate.

Rafael Greca, who currently holds a secretariat in the state government, was elected mayor of Curitiba three times. His first term was in the early 1990s. In the 2000 dispute, he was re-elected without a second round. Alvaro Dias (MDB), former governor and former senator, will join Greca’s ticket to try to return to the Senate.

In addition to Moro, Guto, Curi and Greca, the opposition camp has already presented state deputy Requião Filho (PDT) as a pre-candidate for governor. The PED supporter launches an alliance with the PT, which has him as a pre-candidate for the Senate.
