An Israeli airstrike on Kfarhata, a village in southern Lebanon, killed seven people this Sunday (5), including a 4 year old childthe Lebanese Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Another Israeli attack in the Jnah neighborhood of Beirut killed four people e injured 39 othersthe ministry added.
The attack on Kfarhata occurred after a withdrawal order overnight by the Israeli military, instructing residents to leave the village.
While Lebanese Christians, who represent about a third of the population, celebrated Easter Sunday, the country experienced one of his most violent days since fighting with Israel began early last month.
All day long, Beirut echoed with sounds of attacks and the noise of low-flying planes. The southern suburbs of the capital were hit by eight air strikesstate media reported.
Earlier on Sunday, the Lebanese army said that a soldier had been killed in an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.
On Saturday (4), the Israeli army issued a withdrawal notice targeting Lebanon’s Masnaa border crossing with Syria, the main entry point linking the two countries, claiming it was being used by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah to military purposes.
Lebanon was drawn into the Middle East conflict when Iran-backed Hezbollah began launch rockets at Israel on March 2, in support of Tehran.
