The Public Ministry of Santiago del Estero opened an investigation against businessman Mariano Páez, father of Argentine lawyer accused of racismAgostina Paéz, after a video in which he makes gestures similar to those of a monkey.
The inquiry was opened this Sunday (5), by prosecutor Dr. Victoria Ledesma, after the repercussion of the recording. On the occasion, in the center of Santiago del Estero.
According to the agency, The objective of the action is to determine the existence or not of crimes, taking as a starting point the content of the audiovisual material that is in circulation and has become public.

After returning to Buenos Aires this Wednesday (1st), the he became a topic again after the repercussion of a video involving his father, businessman Mariano Páez.
He was filmed in a bar in the center of Santiago del Estero making monkey-like gestures. The images, recorded by a witness and published by the local channel “Info del Estero”, show the businessman at the establishment, located in the central region of the city. Look:
According to the Argentine newspaper “La Nación”, Mariano Páez stated, in an interview, that the videos had been created using artificial intelligence.
However, minutes later, his daughter published a statement on social media, distancing herself from her father’s actions and confirming the authenticity of the images.
In a note, Agostina stated that he repudiates and regrets the businessman’s behavior.
“I assume what is mine: I recognized my mistakes, I apologized and . But I can only answer for my own actions”, he declared.
The lawyer ends the statement by stating that she is in after two difficult months and is grateful for the support received.
