The party stated, this Sunday (5), that the writer Augusto Cury, 67, recently affiliated to the party, is a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. The announcement was made on social media.
“The Brazilian people can no longer take this polarization and we need to turn this page with someone who can move our country forward with prosperity and quality of life for people!”, says the caption on Instagram.
In the photo, Cury appears greeting the president of Avante, federal deputy Luís Tibé (Avante-MG).
Born in Colina, in the interior of São Paulo, Cury is a psychiatrist at the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto. Author of self-help works, he is the creator of the Theory of Multifocal Intelligence, with books published in 70 countries. It has more than 25 million copies sold in Brazil alone.
In 2022, Avante had launched the federal deputy (today in Rede-MG), but, with a few months to go, he withdrew his candidacy, deciding to support Lula for a third term.
Cury also used social media to comment on the pre-candidacy announcement.
“My goal is to contribute to building the Brazil of our dreams. I don’t love power, I don’t need power and I don’t seek power for power’s sake. This is not a personal project, but a journey.
A journey 100% project-based and 0% personal attacks,” he wrote.
