Corinthians’ football director, Marcelo Paz, was a key player in Fernando Diniz’s arrival. This is what the coach himself confirms.
This Tuesday (7), the coach was presented as at Timão and received the club’s shirt from the hands of the director himself and president Osmar Stabile.
“There’s a job identification. I think. Because it’s much more difficult to take Fortaleza to two Libertadores than Flamengo or Palmeiras. It’s a very different job, it designed a lot of people. It created a team with the logistics that are for Fortaleza, achieving the things he achieved, everything he did, maintaining the coaches. It was a job of exemplary professionalism in my opinion.”
In 2021, he tried to hire Fernando Diniz to take charge of the Ceará club after the departure of Enderson Moreira. In a press conference at Corinthians’ CT, the coach recalled the old “courtship” between the two.
“We had a relationship that lasted five years before we met here at Corinthians. And I think it was the right time for Marcelo and me”, declared Diniz, who took the opportunity to praise Stabile.
“I want to take advantage and talk about the presence, which I didn’t know, of President Osmar. For me the first impact was very positive. A person who football needs a lot more people with this spirit, who has no need other than the only one to help Corinthians. The impression I had of the president was the best possible. So that makes me more excited to be here. Being with Marcelo, with the president, with the group of players that I know are here at Corinthians, there is everything to do a collective job that leads Corinthians to dream of big things”, he concluded.
