Shooting in front of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul leaves 2 dead

A shooting in front of the Israeli consulate in the city of Istanbul, Turkey, left at least 2 dead and one person seriously injured this Tuesday morning (Apr 7, 2026).

According to , the exchange of gunfire lasted around 10 minutes and 2 police officers were injured. So far, there is no information about the identity or motivations of those responsible.

On social media, videos show a man armed with a rifle and pistol shooting as he moves between police vehicles. Two bodies can be seen nearby.
