A shooting in front of the Israeli consulate in the city of Istanbul, Turkey, left at least 2 dead and one person seriously injured this Tuesday morning (Apr 7, 2026).
According to , the exchange of gunfire lasted around 10 minutes and 2 police officers were injured. So far, there is no information about the identity or motivations of those responsible.

There are no Israeli diplomats currently in Türkiye. The consulate occupies the 7th floor of a building in the Beşiktaş district. The area has had reinforced security since the start of the war between Hamas and Israel, in 2023, and was isolated by security forces.
