The Iranian navy threatened to destroy ships that attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz without Tehran’s permission, adding that traffic through the waterway remained closed, according to several shipping sources.
“Any vessel that attempts to enter the sea… will be shot and destroyed…” the message said.
