North Americans will be able to watch an unprecedented fight as they prepare to celebrate the 250 years of the country’s independence: a “cage match” between the children of a sitting US president and the son of a former president.
A unlikely possibility emerged this Thursday (09)when Hunter Biden, son of former Democratic President Joe Biden, challenged Republican President Donald Trump’s eldest sons — Donald Jr. and Eric — to a fight. Biden said he received a call from conservative social media commentator Andrew Callaghan, who told him he was organizing the fight.
“I told him I would do it — 100% participation if he succeeds. And if he doesn’t make it, I still will,” he said in a video shared on Callaghan’s Channel 5 Instagram. The Trump Organization and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Biden became president after defeating Trump in the 2020 electionwhich the Republican continues to falsely claim was the result of widespread fraud. The threat of confrontation between their children has echoes of a proposed 2023 cage fight between tech titans Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, although that event never took place.
In earlier eras of American politics, there were bloody struggles, notably the 1804 duel between Vice President Aaron Burr and former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton, which resulted in the former Treasury Secretary’s death and effectively ended Burr’s political career.
