According to Zema, there are several inconsistencies in the decisions and conduct of ministers

During participation in an event at the Commercial and Business Association of São Paulo, the governor of Goiás, Romeu Zema, harshly criticized ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). In his statements, he stated that Alexandre de Moraes and Dias Toffoli should be impeached and, in a more incisive tone, suggested that both could even be arrested.

According to Zema, there are several inconsistencies in the decisions and conduct of ministerswho, in his view, would behave as “untouchables”. He expanded the criticism to the national political scene, mentioning that this stance would also be observed among parliamentarians in Brasília, including deputies and senators.

Video with Flávio Bolsonaro has repercussions on the networks

On the weekend, Zema also gained prominence on social media when he published a video alongside Flávio Bolsonaro. In the recording, in a relaxed tone and following a popular trend on digital platforms, the possibility of Flávio being his vice-president in a possible presidential candidacy was raised.

Despite the repercussion, the governor adopted a more cautious speech when speaking to journalists this Monday. He claimed to be a pre-candidate with his own ticket and ruled outat least at this moment, an alliance with the senator.

Partisan differences mark distance

When commenting on the differences between him and Flávio Bolsonaro, Zema highlighted party differences as one of the main factors. He criticized PL, Bolsonaro’s party, stating that the party harbors “rotten fruits”.

In contrast, he highlighted that, in his party, Novo, members involved in irregularities are expelled. As an example, he mentioned the former president of the party, who was reportedly dismissed after aligning himself with the PT.

“Different right” and focus on public security

Zema also sought to position himself as a representative of a “different right”. Among his proposals, he highlighted the intention to reduce public spending and prioritize security, with legislative changes that increase the punishment of criminals.

Drop in searches is not a concern

Despite appearing with modest indices in electoral polls, the governor demonstrated confidence. He recalled his trajectory in 2018, when he started the race for the government of Minas Gerais with a low score and managed to grow throughout the campaign until winning.

Zema stated that he believes that this movement could be repeated in the race for Palácio do Planalto.
