Every Sunday before the dance show Let’s Dance offers viewers a live stream from the red carpet on its website. It was no different this time either. She drew all the attention to herself the legendary singer Eva Máziková, who lived up to her reputation. Like a tornado of energy, she rushed in front of the cameras, where the interview with Hana Gregorova.
Máziková declared that she and the actress not only know each other, but are almost like family. “She’s a lady singer. When she sang, she could understand everything,” Gregorová praised her.
“That’s good. Not now, because I have false teeth,” responded Máziková promptly, who made a joke at her own expense. The actress then explained that it was a compliment, because she does not understand some of today’s singers at all because of their poor articulation.
The long-time stalwarts of Slovak show business caught up in memory and remembered when they met. On this occasion, something that had been a secret for 30 years came to the surface. “I’ll tell you when. I think we met in person when I was dubbing for Evička in Pacho, the highway robber,” Gregorová revealed.
“Was that you?” asked the shocked singer. “I didn’t even know that. I thought to myself, what a beautiful voice. But I can push cabbage well. I can’t talk,” added Máziková.
Gregorová was surprised that her longtime colleague did not know about it. However, she could not answer the question why she had to overdub Máziková in the legendary film. That’s why Máziková took the floor. “I think… that was my big start. That j, ra, I can’t speak like that. So thank you for this beautiful voice. I’ll find out now in ’76.” added the singing icon and laughed.
