FHC ban is granted to children by court order

TJ-SP appointed Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s firstborn son as provisional curator of his assets

Control of the former president’s financial and patrimonial assets94 years old, underwent an official transition this Wednesday (April 15, 2026). By determination of the (Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo), the first-born Paulo Henrique Cardoso assumed the role of provisional curator, being responsible for managing FHC’s assets.

The São Paulo Court’s determination is based on a medical report that attests to FHC’s health condition and the consent expressed by the other two daughters, Luciana and Beatriz.

According to the decision, the choice of Paulo Henrique reflects a relationship of trust previously signaled by the former president himself. The son designated as provisional curator has a period of 15 days to present the formal agreement of Patrícia Kundrát, 48 years old, Fernando Henrique’s current partner, to the process.

FHC’S MARITAL BOND

The bond between the former president and Patrícia Kundrát was made official through a stable union in 2014, after years of her working as executive secretary and administrator of the Fernando Henrique Cardoso Institute.

Although the relationship was publicly confirmed in 2012, the two had been seen together since the end of 2010. In the procedural action, the Court also demanded that evidence be presented about the former president’s current mobility and the record of his reaction when notified about the decision.

DEFENSE OF THE CARDOSO FAMILY

The Cardoso family’s defense in the case is led by lawyers Henrique Ávila, Caetano Berenguer and Fabiano Robalinho, members of the firm Bermudes Advogados.
