The president (PT) suggested that the trade unions tell the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) that the so-called pejotization of work does not help the country. Gilmar is the rapporteur of the thesis that deals with the hiring regime and usually decides accordingly.
“The union centrals have to schedule a meeting with Minister Gilmar of the Supreme Court to tell him that pejotization doesn’t help, not just the worker, but it doesn’t help the country, it doesn’t help the guarantee fund, it doesn’t help social security, it doesn’t help the housing and sanitation policy”, he said during the Planalto.
“So, who is interested in pejotization?” he asked. At the meeting, which takes place every year, the groups presented a list of labor demands — this time, 68 demands were taken to the president.
The statement comes shortly after Lula made public demands on Supreme Court ministers, commenting on the call between members of the Court in the Master case and stating that .
Among them is the fight against pejotization, regulation of work by application, as well as the reduction of the 6×1 working day. To the representatives, Lula also took the opportunity to comment on the end of the mandatory union tax.
“There are many people who think that the union movement is dead and, therefore, they ended the union tax,” he said. The annual contribution has become optional since the 2017 labor reform, under the management of Michel Temer.
“Because they did to you what we want to do to organized crime: if we want to end organized crime, we have to suffocate their economy. Because as long as they have the money they have, we won’t end it. And they treated the union movement like this, we’re going to suffocate it, leave it without money.”
