In a post on his social network, Trump thanked the Iranian regime for opening the passage of commercial vessels
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, confirmed this Friday (April 17, 2026) that the Strait of Hormuz is fully open for the passage of commercial vessels during the ceasefire period.
“The passage of vessels through the strait will follow the coordinated route already announced by the Iranian Ports and Maritime Affairs Organization”wrote in a publication on X.
The President of the United States, (Republican Party), thanked Iran in a post made on the social network Truth Social.
“Iran just announced that the Iran Strait is fully open and ready for full passage. Thank you!”he wrote.
The Strait of Hormuz is a waterway through which about 1/5 of the global supply of oil and gas passes. The passage has been practically blocked since the United States and Israel began their offensive against Iran on February 28.
