Trump had said on Truth Social that “the United States will be left with all the nuclear ‘dust’ created by the magnificent B2 bombers.” But Iran’s enriched uranium will not be transferred anywhere, says Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
Iran denied this Friday that it had agreed to the transfer of its stocks of enriched uranium, after the US president, Donald Trumphave suggested the opposite, when addressing this central issue in the differences between the two countries.
“Iran’s enriched uranium will not be transferred anywhere. Just as Iranian soil is sacred to us, this issue is of great importance,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaicited by the country’s state television.
Donald Trump had on his social network Truth Social that “the United States will be left with all the nuclear ‘dust’ created by the magnificent B2″ bombers, referring to Iranian uranium which was targeted by North American aviation in June last year.
The North American leader published this Friday a series of messages on his social network about the current conflict with the Islamic Republic, and, in statements to the AFP agency, he added that there are now “no points of friction” for an understanding with Tehran, which he believes is very close.
“Iranians want to reunite. They want to reach an agreement. I think there will probably be a reunion this weekend. I think we will reach an agreement within a day or two”, added Donald Trump in another conversation, with the North American digital newspaper.
In his sequence of posts, the White House leader also said that Iran accepted “never close the Strait of Hormuz again“, after Tehran’s head of diplomacy announced today, hailed by Trump as “a great day for the world”.
The Republican politician, however, said that the United States will maintain its naval blockade of Iranian ports until peace negotiations “are 100% concluded”.
In reaction, the Iranian news agencies Fars and Tasnim, close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, later indicated that the Strait of Hormuz will once again be terminated if the US naval blockade continues.
The announcement of the reopening of the strategic strait, through which 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas passed before the war started by the United States and Israel on February 28, followed the conflict in Lebanon, which came into force last night.
This truce was one of the conditions demanded by Iran to continue peace negotiations, following the two-week ceasefire with the United States for the conflict in the Gulf and implemented since April 8.
Delegations from Washington and Tehran met last weekend under Pakistani mediation in Islamabad, but the dialogue ended without understanding and led to the announcement of the United States naval blockade of Iranian ports.
The interruption of commercial navigation, such as Iran’s retaliation attacks by the United States and Israel, caused uncertainty in the markets, caused the price of crude oil to soar and affected the global economy, in addition to contributing to the destabilization of the Middle East, including the resumption of the war between Israel and Hezbollah.
The announcement of the reopening of the strait was met with a 10% drop in prices of oil and a recovery in European stock marketsafter five weeks of a devastating war for the global economy.
