Felipe Schmidt, the son of Oscar Schmidt, This Friday (17) he mourned the death of his father. “Today the world loses an idol and I lose my father”, said Felipe in his publication. “You were an example of life for me, and I will never, ever forget you”, he added.

Felipe wrote that he understands the inexplicable pain of losing a parent and that it is groundless. “It feels like a piece of you has been ripped out,” he declared.

He concluded by asking everyone respect the Schmidt family at this time, and let them “live the mourning”. “He was a hero and left a legacy in basketball that few achieved,” he concluded.

Oscar Schmidt, the “Holy Hand”, Brazilian and world basketball legend, aged 68. The information was confirmed by the former athlete’s advisors. Oscar is widely considered the greatest basketball player in Brazilian history and one of the largest in the world. The cause of death was not disclosed.
