Who stopped to watch the duel between Vitória and Corinthians this Saturday (18), at Barradão, for the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship, he was disappointed. Not that both teams generated expectations of a spectacle in Salvador. However, what was seen on the field was a apathetic acting on both sides, very low technical level in a goalless draw, with just one kick towards the goal.
The result leaves the Corinthians with 12 points close to the relegation zone. O Vitória reaches 15 points and fights for position in the middle of the table.
The next appointment of the Corinthians is scheduled for Tuesday (21), at 9:30 pm, for the Copa do Brasil. The black and white team visits Barra, a rising team from Balneário Camboriú, at the Estádio da Ressacada, in Florianópolis. THE Vitória, in turn, visits Flamengoin the same competition, on Wednesday (22), also at 9:30 pm.
Corinthians started the match with a more dominant posture. Vitória tried to take advantage of some counterattacks with Renato Kayzer. However, the striker of the Salvador team suffered a muscle injury and had to leave the field after just nine minutes.
The first half was sleepy and unproductive. Neither team managed to find the direction of the goal. Corinthians and Vitória played a game befitting their intermediate positions in the table.
The second part maintained the panorama. The low technical quality and disposition of the athletes hampered the progress of the game and took away the patience of black and red fans.
Kaio César was one of the few to show intensity on the Corinthians side. Still, the ball insisted on heading towards the goal. Both sides seemed content with the goalless draw.
Only in the 42nd minute of the second half came the first shot towards goal. Zé Vitor took a risk from afar and Hugo Souza made a good save to prevent Vitória’s goal.
