The town of Bordeira, in the municipality of Faro, marks the 25th of April with an event that brings together music, tradition and gastronomy, starting at 1 pm, at the D. Leonor Outdoor Activities Center. The initiative is promoted by and promises to bring the community together in a celebration of freedom.
According to the organization, the objective is to “create a moment of conviviality that values cultural identity and unity between regions”.
Traditional music and cultural diversity highlighted
This year’s lineup stands out for its diversity of musical genres, bringing together groups from the Algarve and Alentejo. Among the confirmed performances is the Faro Folklore Group, which returns to Bordeira with a show that pays homage to accordionist José Ferreiro Pai, a native of the town.
The organization emphasizes that this presentation represents “a tribute to the musical legacy linked to the Algarve identity”.
Sing Alentejo and barrocal sounds
The event will also feature the presence of the group The Village Voicesfrom Aldeia dos Fernandes, which features Alentejo singing, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Also the group Voices of Barrocalfrom São Brás de Alportel, will be present, reinforcing the cultural connection between neighboring territories and celebrating the region’s musical traditions.
The poster is completed with the presentation by Cristiano Martins, responsible for ensuring moments of entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Regional cuisine accompanies celebration
In addition to music, gastronomy plays a central role in the event. Visitors will be able to taste specialties such as roast lamb, snails and other typical delicacies.
According to the organization, it is “a space prepared to welcome families and visitors from across the region, promoting conviviality and sharing”.
The initiative is free and takes place throughout the afternoon, inviting the population to celebrate the date in a relaxed and community atmosphere.
