Lula says institutions need reforms – 04/24/2026 – Politics

The president () sent a video for the opening of the 8th PT Congress, held this Friday (24), in which he calls for the reform of institutions and feasible proposals from his party.

“No one has defended the institutions as Brazil has defended. Do they need reforms? They do. From the UN to Brazil’s internal institutions need reform. But it is important that we speak very clearly so that the people know what we want”, he said.

The party meeting marks the presentation of the PT manifesto, a text with guidelines to guide the party’s work. This year, this was reinforced by PT president, Edinho Silva, during his speech.

Initially, the discussion in the party was about approving a text that cited “promiscuity between judges and businesspeople”. Now, the tendency is for “self-correction mechanism” to be defended in the text.
