Newspaper investigation shows that document is part of the criminal case of the tycoon’s cellmate.
Still the . An alleged suicide letter attributed to the tycoon continues under secrecy in a New York federal court – almost 7 years after his death.
According to , the document will have been found in July 2019 by Nicholas Tartaglione, who was at the time cellmate de Epstein.
The apparent suicide note was found days after the tycoon was found injured in his cell, with a cloth wrapped around his neck – but weeks before of his, in August 2019, when he hanged himself with sheets.
The note, written on a piece of paper torn from a pad, would include the phrase “It’s time to say goodbye”although its authenticity has never been independently confirmed.
The note was given to Epstein’s defense team and ended up being sealed by a judge within the scope of the criminal process, which may have prevented its access by investigators.
The United States Department of Justice itself indicated not have any registration of the document, despite having analyzed millions of pages related to the case.

This increases the controversy surrounding this process. The absence of references to the alleged letter in official documents, as well as failures in the prison system on the night of the death, have fueled theories and public suspicions over the years.
