The price of weddings has risen again in Portugal and may be becoming an increasing concern for many couples who plan to gather family and friends for a traditional celebration. Between image services, music, flowers, catering and space, the final bill can weigh much more on the budget than just a year ago.
According to data provided by the service contracting platform Fixando, the average price of a wedding with 100 guests is around 21,127 euros in 2026. In 2025, the same type of celebration would cost around 18,570 euros, which represents a difference of 2,557 euros, according to .
More personalized services ‘pull’ prices
The rise in the price of a wedding is not just focused on one expense. According to Fixando’s analysis, several services linked to weddings registered significant increases, especially those that require greater specialization, preparation and personalization.
“The data shows a clear appreciation of services linked to weddings, especially those that require greater specialization and personalization. The increase in demand and the focus on more complete and differentiated experiences explain this trend”, says Alice Nunes, director of new business at Fixando, cited by the same source.
Among the sharpest increases are makeup and hair, up 33%, photography, up 31%, and video, which increased by 28%. Flowers and dance classes also recorded increases of 25%, according to the same analysis.
Photography and video are gaining more and more weight
Photography and video continue to be two of the most valued choices by newlyweds, because they capture the main moments of the day. On the platform’s official page, dedicated to wedding photography, the platform says that this service can include preparations, ceremony, bride and groom session, reception and party, depending on the package contracted.
According to the same data from the platform, the total cost of wedding photography can vary between 175 and 4,200 euros, with an average of 847 euros. The platform warns, however, that these values are just references and that the final price depends on the needs of each order.
In the case of wedding filming, an average of 722 euros is shown and a range between 350 and 1,400 euros for the total price. The platform adds that budgets vary according to the project, the duration of the event and the characteristics of the contracted service.
Makeup among the biggest increases
Wedding makeup appears as the service with the highest percentage increase in the analysis published, with an increase of 33%. On the official Fixando page, the total price for this service appears at an average of 111 euros and can vary between 30 and 380 euros. The fixed price, including travel, appears with an average of 84 euros.
Even so, the company emphasizes on its pricing pages that the values presented should be seen as estimates, as the final budget depends on the specific request, the number of people, the location, the desired style and other details of the service.
Services that remained stable
Despite increases in several categories, not all services increased. According to the note released, farm rental and decoration kept prices stable compared to the previous year, with no reported variations.
“Although there are services with more contained increases, the accumulated impact on the global budget is significant. The transversal increase in several categories indicates that getting married in 2026 represents a greater investment compared to 2025”, explains the platform.
The analysis also points to increases of between 10% and 20% in several usual wedding expenses. This is the case with DJ and sound, cake, band, invitations and menus, all with increases of 10%. The celebrant increased by 18% and the external tent increased by 19%.
Getting married now requires more planning
With these values, organizing a wedding in Portugal involves more careful financial preparation, especially for those who want to gather around 100 guests. The difference of R$2,557 compared to 2025 shows that the accumulated increase in the various services has a direct impact on the total budget.
“These data reflect a generalized price adjustment in the sector, influenced by the increase in demand and operating costs”, concludes Fixando.
The platform also indicates, on official service pages, that it has more than 60,000 specialists in 1,200 categories, covering areas such as events, home, classes, well-being, animals, domestic services, technical assistance, business services, automobiles and other services.
