“Instead of the logic of division, it naturally cultivates the spirit of convergence and common construction”, highlighted TSE minister Antonio Carlos Ferreira
Minister Antonio Carlos Ferreira, of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), praised the “sense of measure” and “capacity for rapprochement” of Minister Kássio Nunes Marques, recently sworn in as president of the Court. “Instead of the logic of division, it naturally cultivates the spirit of convergence and common construction”, highlighted Ferreira. He spoke on behalf of the Court at the ceremony marking the handover of command of the TSE, presided over the last two years by minister Cármen Lúcia.
“Minister Nunes Marques does not lack a sense of measure, a discreet and essential virtue that distinguishes great magistrates: knowing when to advance and when to contain, when to innovate and when to preserve, when to speak and when to remain silent”, said Ferreira, who occupies one of the vacancies in the TSE reserved for magistrates of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
“There is, in his way of acting, an unequivocal understanding that institutions are strengthened less through confrontation and than through the capacity for rapprochement and understanding,” he added.
