The verdict was reached in the case of receiving agrosubsidies: the ex-MP of Smer heard her sentence!

The ex-MP for Smer-SD Ľubica Rošková was found guilty in the case of receiving agricultural subsidies. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court (NS) of the Slovak Republic decided on this. He imposed a suspended prison sentence of two years with a probationary period of three years. He also imposed probation supervision on her during the probationary period, a fine of 10,000 euros and a ban on applying for funds from the European Union budget during the probationary period.

In case of failure of the fine, Rošková received an alternative sentence of one year’s imprisonment. The judgment of the Supreme Court is final. At the same time, the Supreme Court annulled the judgment of the first-instance court. He also decided that he does not accept the Agricultural Payment Agency as an injured party in this proceeding.

Rošková was charged with damaging the financial interests of the European Union and with subsidy fraud. In 2024, the specialized criminal court in Pezinok found Rošková guilty of committing crimes of damaging the financial interests of the European Union and subsidy fraud.

He imposed a three-year suspended prison sentence on her with a five-year probationary period. The defendant had to compensate the agricultural payment agency for damages in the amount of almost 152,000 euros. The court partially modified the indictment’s legal qualification, which reduced the penalty rate. He was inclined to impose a sentence at the lower limit of the criminal rate with a maximum length of probation.
