When someone negotiates a deal with themselves, it is foreseeable that the outcome will benefit both sides of the negotiation. In this case it is no different, and on both sides stands US President Donald Trump, who is benefiting massively from a process that is unparalleled in US history. Specifically, the US Treasury Department, which reports to Trump, has reached a legal settlement with the Trump Organization, which also reports to Trump (but as a private individual). The result benefits, of up to $100 million, of course: Trump.
