Lignano – Despite plenty of alcohol, minor scuffles and some damage to property, the night of Whit Sunday in the northern Italian seaside resort of Lignano passed without any major incidents. Thousands of young holidaymakers from Austria celebrated extensively in the bars of the Adriatic town and left a lot of rubbish on the streets. A young Austrian man was arrested after rioting and then taken to the emergency room for treatment.
