Andrej Babiš rejects immediate reshuffles in the government and promises changes only after the annual balance of the ministers’ work. He claims that the coalition works without problems.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is not planning any changes in his government yet. According to him, they could only take place after an annual evaluation of the work of its members, writes TASR according to a report from the Novinky.cz server.
Babiš told journalists at the Government Office event “Strakovka lives by agriculture” on Saturday. “If there were to be some kind of reconstruction, it would definitely be after some kind of annual balance, whether it works or not, that’s the only criterion,” he said.
The Novinky.cz server reports that the media speculated, for example, about the change of Minister of Defense Jaromír Zůna or Minister of Culture Oto Klempíř, especially after Zůna failed to promote his own candidate for the post of Chief of the General Staff and Klempíř failed with his proposal to change the law on public media. Babiš described the speculations as nonsense, and by the end of June he will evaluate how the ministers are fulfilling the program and where they have reserves. He described the relations in the coalition as excellent. “I have been in three coalitions and it works perfectly, I have no problem with it,” he assessed.
