The National Executive determined that the party support the PSD in the dispute for the government of Mato Grosso, contrary to the desire of local activists to run for office.
The party will thus participate in the coalition of doctor Natasha Slhessarenko (PSD) for the government, which will be one of the candidates for the Senate. The other senator vacancy should go to Pedro Taques (PSB).
The orientation, according to the published resolution, is consistent with the alliance policy, which has as a priority the re-election of President Luiz Inácio da Silva.
The PSD, although it has its own pre-candidate for president, has freed its regional directories to support other candidates, such as Lula or Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
“State tactics must be rigorously integrated into President Lula’s national re-election strategy, ensuring a state platform that expands the social majority and consolidates the democratic-popular project”, says a note from the Executive.
Part of the PT of Mato Grosso defended the candidacy for government of substitute state deputy Edna Sampaio. The party must now have a candidacy for vice president or some substitute for the Senate.
