Eremildo is an idiot and is convinced that the banker was a legal scholar. What the idiot doesn’t understand is the bonfire of vanities in which .
From what they tell him, Vorcaro thinks he is innocent, the victim of persecution. It is possible, in that case, there is nothing to negotiate. He awaits trial. If you’re acquitted, you go home. Condemned, grate.
Adventurers and thieves
“Adventurers and Thieves – Stories of Who Shook or Almost Broke the Markets”, by Roberto Teixeira da Costa and Fábio Pahim Jr., is coming to bookstores. One knows the market and was the first president of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the other is a reporter with extensive experience in the market.
It’s a small book (202 pages) with the story of 15 figures and a manual for those who have money to lose (or gain). Six characters are Brazilian: Barão de Mauá, Naji Nahas, Edemar Cid Ferreira, Eike Batista, Carlos Ghosn and Daniel Vorcaro.
Not everyone, like Mauá, are simple adventurers/visionaries, much less thieves. Others, like Elizabeth Holmes of medical testing company Theranos (incarcerated), are con artists who mirrored the greed of the tech world upstairs. With the chapter on Jesse Livermore (he killed himself), we visit the crisis of 1929, and with that on Bernard Madoff, the reincarnation of Charles Ponzi, who spent time in jail and died in Rio, retired by the late IAPC.
None managed to elect their son John president of the United States, like the Germanophile faun Joseph Kennedy. All left marks on the economy and/or politics of their countries.
Each of them had a version of Faria Lima by their side.
USA and Argentina
With the air of someone who doesn’t want anything, the United States signed a five-year agreement through which the Navies of both countries strengthened their ties. The American Navy will collaborate in the modernization of Argentina, including the supply of drones.
The agreement is part of a “Global Common Goods Protection Program” and will allow the US Southern Command to participate in patrolling the Argentine sea.
The Argentine opposition was not happy. He was bothered by the expression “global commons”.
