It requests that the authors of the messages be identified and that measures be taken to ensure possible criminal liability. In the congresswoman’s opinion, the publications can constitute the crimes of condoning crime and vilifying a corpse. The request cites comments published on social media after the repercussions of the young woman’s death.

REPERCUSSION OF THE ACCIDENT

The request was presented 2 days after the death of Maria Eduarda during a rope jump, carried out on the so-called Ponte do Esqueleto, in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo.

According to information released by the city hall, based on reports from the Military Police, the young woman was not attached to the safety rope. According to the SPU (Union Heritage Secretariat), from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, the company was not authorized to carry out this type of activity.

Samu teams were called, but the victim died at the scene. The body was sent to the IML (Legal Medical Institute), while the Civil Police began investigating the circumstances of the accident. Six people linked to the organization of the activity were taken to provide clarification after the young woman’s death.

CITY HALL HOLDS THE UNION RESPONSIBLE

Limeira City Hall announced in a statement that it intends to take legal action against the federal government. The municipal administration states that Ponte do Esqueleto is located in an area under the responsibility of the Union and that it had already alerted federal agencies about the need for security measures at the site.

According to Mayor Murilo Félix, the discussion not only involves the circumstances of the accident, but also the lack of access control to an area considered at risk. The city hall said it will continue to collaborate with the investigations and provide support to the victim’s family.
