The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated this Wednesday (17) that he is committed to doing everything possible to control inflation. The statement was made during participation in a session of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development and Finance and Taxation committees in the Chamber of Deputies.
“My commitment before being here is the commitment to do everything possible to contain inflation. Fiscal measures are being adopted, so much so that in an election year we are blocking R$23 billion from the budget”, stated the minister.
Furthermore, he declared that the government sought to respond to the Federal Audit Court (TCU) on the question about primary and financial expenses.
“I think we are responding to the TCU, to clarify all the issues regarding this difference that I have already pointed out. We need to understand, under penalty of having misinformation, what primary expenses are, expenses that we are even blocking, and what financial expenses are”, added Durigan.
