The president’s work () is evaluated as negative by 38% of Brazilian voters. 32% consider the PT’s management to be positive, while 29% classify it as regular. This is what new research released this Saturday (20) shows.

The situation is stable in relation to the previous round, when one was measured in the government’s assessment. In the last survey, carried out at the end of May, Datafolha captured a negative assessment of 38%, a positive assessment of 32% and a regular assessment of 28%.

In this round, the institute heard, in person, 2,004 voters, on the 17th and 18th of June, in points of population flow. The maximum expected margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus, considering a 95% confidence level. The survey is registered under code BR-09956/2026.

When asked whether they approve or disapprove of Lula’s work as president, 48% say they approve of the government (same performance as at the end of May), while 49% say they disapprove (against 48% at the end of last month). In total, 3% of respondents were unable to answer in both May and June.

Since the last cycle, the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) was approved, which puts (from six days worked to one of rest), one of the main bets, but it is stuck in the Senate.

At the international level, the government proposed a policy on Brazilian assets, as well as those of criminal factions and terrorists.

After the US president announced one about Brazil last year, citing the former president (PL), the government assessment presented .

The government evaluation is important, because it is one of the indexes that historically helps to explain the vote. Datafolha’s own survey shows this relationship: among those who vote for Lula in October, 69% evaluate the government positively, compared to 2% who see the administration as negative. In the group of those who intend to press the number of (), 3% say that the work is good or excellent, and 77% say that it is bad or terrible.

Among voters with a family income of up to two, there was a negative variation in the margin of error limit, which is three points in this group. In May, 39% of these voters evaluated the government positively, now 36%. In the same period, the negative evaluation went from 28% to 31%.

Datafolha also compared Lula’s current mandate with those between 2003 and 2010. The administration starting in 2023 is much better for 5% and better for 27%. The current government performs worse for 25% and much worse for 19%. Another 21% said that the current mandate is the same as the previous ones, and 3% were unable to answer.

In Datafolha’s historical series since , Lula’s positive evaluation rate in the third term, of 32% after three years and five months in Planalto, is below that recorded by him at the same stage in the previous two terms. In 2006, at this point, the PT member scored 39% excellent or good, and, in 2010, 76%.

In the negative assessment, Lula now has a 38% rating of bad or terrible, a percentage higher than all other presidents since, with the exception of Bolsonaro, who recorded 47% in 2022. The index exceeds the 28% of the tucano in his second term, in 2002, and the 28% in 2014.
