July Bolsa Família starts to be paid on the 20th; see calendar

Minimum benefit is R$600 per family; transfers are made according to the last digit of the NIS

A starts paying this month’s installment on July 20, 2026. Beneficiaries with NIS (Social Identification Number) ending in 1 will be the first to receive. Deposits will continue until July 31st, when the money will be released to families with a final NIS of 0.

The program serves around 18 million families. The calendar is scaled according to the last digit of the NIS, printed on the Bolsa Família card. Payments are made in the last 10 business days of each month. In December, the dates are brought forward.

Families residing in municipalities with an emergency or public calamity recognized by the federal government receive it on the 1st day of the calendar, regardless of the end of the NIS.

Here is the July 2026 calendar:

  • NIS final 1 –July 20;
  • NIS final 2 –July 21;
  • NIS final 3 –July 22;
  • NIS final 4 –July 23;
  • NIS final 5 –July 24th;
  • NIS final 6 –July 27;
  • NIS final 7 –July 28;
  • NIS final 8 –July 29;
  • NIS final 9 –July 30;
  • final NIS 0 –July 31st.

The minimum amount is R$600 per family. The program also pays additional benefits depending on the composition of the household. The Early Childhood Benefit adds R$150 per child up to 6 years of age.

Pregnant women, children and adolescents aged 7 to 18 receive an additional R$50. The same amount is allocated to nursing mothers responsible for feeding babies up to 6 months old.

Families registered with CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs) with a monthly income of up to R$218 per person can receive the benefit. The calculation considers the sum of the residents’ income, divided by the number of members in the household.

The MDS (Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger) advises beneficiaries to keep their registration data up to date. Changes in address, income and family composition, in addition to the school situation of children and adolescents, must be informed. The review must be carried out, at most, every 24 months, at a CRAS unit (Social Assistance Reference Center) or at a CadÚnico post.

Families must also comply with the rules for school attendance and health monitoring of pregnant women, children and nursing mothers. Money can be transferred via the Caixa Tem app, used for purchases with a debit card or withdrawn at self-service terminals, lottery outlets and Caixa Aqui correspondents. There is no fee charged when withdrawing.
