Sausages in puff pastry for parties and more. So simple that even a child can do it

This is one of the classic snacks that never gets boring. Regardless of the occasion, my guests are always eager to reach for it sausages in puff pastry. Sometimes I also make them for dinner because my kids love them. The recipe is so simple that sometimes the youngest members of the household make it themselves.

  • 10 sausages,
  • a sheet of XXL puff pastry (375 g),
  • 10 tablespoons of ketchup,
  • 10 tablespoons of mustard,
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 tablespoon of milk,
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin (whole).

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Peel the sausages from their casings. Unfold a sheet of puff pastry and cut it into 10 equal strips (standard dimensions of such a sheet are 25×50, so let it be 10 long strips of 2.5×50 cm).

Spread the strips of puff pastry with mustard and ketchup, leaving a free margin along the long side.

Wrap the sausage strips quite tightly – diagonally and overlapping, so that subsequent dough rings connect at the free margin. To make the dough stick together in this place, lightly press it against the sausages.

Brush the tops of the sausages with beaten egg mixed with milk. Place on the prepared baking tray. Sprinkle with cumin.

Place the tray in the oven. Bake the sausages for about 15 minutes – until they are nicely browned. Serve hot.
