Trial against two 18-year-olds over the drug-related death of a 14-year-old

“Lily,” as she was called by friends, was only 14 years old. On June 4th, she took a drug cocktail in an apartment in Vienna-Donaustadt – forensic pathologist Katharina Stolz was able to detect overdoses of cocaine and MDMA as well as residues of ketamine in the corpse, and the girl may also have consumed the quickly degrading “liquid ecstasy”. When the rescue arrived at the apartment, the teenager’s heartbeat and breathing had already stopped and she was resuscitated twice on site. However, a computer tomography in the hospital revealed severe brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen. On June 8th, her parents agreed to stop life support measures and let their child die.
