Buttery cinnamon sticks it’s a real classic among home baked goods. Such sweets are particularly popular in autumn and winter – this is when the aroma of cinnamon definitely delights the most.
The great advantage of this recipe is its simplicity – preparing the cookies takes only a few minutes and baking is also short. So if you want to make something quick for coffee or tea, definitely try it.
- 230 g of wheat flour,
- 120 g of butter,
- 100 g sugar,
- 1 egg,
- 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract,
- ¼ teaspoon of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of baking powder,
- 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon,
- 2 tablespoons of milk,
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon for rolling,
- 50 g of sugar for rolling.
Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix for another 2 minutes.
Mix in flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
Add 2 tablespoons of milk. If the mixture is still too dry and crumbly, add another spoon. The dough should be elastic and be able to easily form a ball. Form a ball and wrap it in food foil. Put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for coating.
Remove the dough from the fridge and form balls with a diameter of approx. 4 cm. Roll them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Lightly press each ball, flattening it into a cookie. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Bake the butter cinnamon rolls for 10-12 minutes, then remove them and leave to cool for a few minutes.
Store cookies in an airtight container.
