In connection with Monday’s (February 9) finding of a body without signs of life in Košice, the police charged three men with the particularly serious crime of robbery resulting in death, committed as an accomplice. A motion to take them into custody was processed. Two women were released from detention. The Košice regional police informs about it on the social network.
“For almost two weeks, searchers from Košice searched for a missing 62-year-old man. Although he was homeless, he visited his mother regularly. When he didn’t show up for a long time, she contacted the police,” he clarifies, adding that the man’s body was found in the forest. After all, one of the suspects was the informant of the find.
According to the findings so far, a group of five people spotted the man in front of the chain store and moved with him into the forest. “A dispute over cigarettes, food and a mobile phone resulted in an attack. Three men beat him with wooden sticks and left him lying on the spot. The man died of injuries and hypothermia. The body was then dragged into the bushes and covered with a blanket. The conscience of one of the persons involved helped solve the case,” the police report.
Initially, the investigator initiated a criminal prosecution for the crime of homicide, the regional investigator changed the legal qualification.
