O Botafogo won the Boavista 2-0 in the first leg of the semi-final Rio Cup. The match took place at the Elcyr Resende Stadium, in Bacaxá.
Without any major aspirations in the tournament without being able to qualify for the semi-finals of the Campeonato Carioca, they entered the field with an alternative team and built the result with goals from Gabriel Justino and Arthur.
The return duel will be next Saturday (28), at the Nilton Santos Stadium. Whoever advances will face the winner of the semifinal between Bangu and Volta Redonda.
The Rio Cup decision, which defines Carioca’s fifth place team, will be played on the 7th or 8th of March. It is worth remembering that the winner of the competition guarantees a place in the next edition of the Copa do Brasil.
