OAB-SP brings together presidents of higher courts in April – 03/13/2026 – Panel

Amid the crisis experienced by the Brazilian Judiciary, the São Paulo section of the (Brazilian Bar Association) intends to hold a meeting with the presidents of the higher courts on April 6th. A reform of the Justice system must be on the agenda.

The president of OAB-SP, Leonardo Sica, and members of a commission created to debate the issue will be present. Among them, the former presidents of the (Federal Supreme Court) Ellen Gracie and Cezar Peluso.

The meeting takes place after the release of research that shows that the rate of Brazilians who do not trust the Supreme Court reached 43%, the highest rate since 2012.

In January, the OAB-SP delivered a proposal for a code of conduct for STF ministers to the president of the Supreme Court, minister .

In June, a proposed bill to reform the judiciary.

In addition to strengthening society’s trust in the judiciary, other topics must be discussed at the meeting, such as access to justice and the functioning of higher courts.

The presidents of the STF, Edson Fachin, of the (Superior Court of Justice), Herman Benjamin, of the TST (Superior Labor Court), Vieira de Mello Filho and (Superior Military Court), Maria Elizabeth Rocha, as well as representatives of the (National Council of Justice) were invited.
