Waldez Goés gives up running for a seat in the Senate and stays in government

Minister of Integration says that Lula asked to remain at the head of the ministry until the end of his term

The Minister of Integration and Regional Development, (PDT), gave up running for a seat in the Senate for Amapá and will remain in government until the end of the president’s term (PT).

In his profile on X, on Wednesday (April 1, 2026), the minister stated that he received an invitation from Lula to remain at the head of the ministry. “I accepted this mission with honor and a sense of responsibility”he wrote.

“We will continue to continue the work started in January 2023, which leads me, at this moment, to postpone the project of running for a new elected position”, declared.
