The (National Bank for Economic Development) approved million-dollar financing to implement a green corridor in . The operation, worth R$140 million, will support the investment plan of TransJordano, a transport and logistics company for bulk products.
The value represents 92% of the project. With these resources, the company will build three gas stations, in addition to purchasing one hundred trucks powered by renewable fuel.
“The project approved by BNDES is part of the energy transition policy of President Lula’s government, which seeks to offer sustainable solutions, including for cargo transport logistics in Brazil”, said the president of BNDES, .
The company is also responsible for purchasing equipment designed to increase the autonomy of biomethane storage tanks, called “backpacks”.
According to the proposal, the stations will also be able to supply trucks from other transport companies with biomethane. The idea is to favor the energy transition of the sector in the region.
To the Panel, Mercadante said that the project increases the company’s competitiveness, but benefits other transporters.
“With this project, developed in São Paulo, we will have a reduction in emissions of 6.5 tons of CO2 equivalent in the first year of operation”, he stated.
