Dark Horse: producer denies having received money Vorcaro – 05/13/2026 – Politics

Go Up Entertainment, producer of the film “Dark Horse” (“O Azarão”, in literal translation), about the story of (), denied the Sheet receiving transfers of funds from the former banker for the project.

According to Karina Ferreira da Gama, managing partner of the company, the producer only has foreign investments, with no connection to the banker. The speech takes place despite the senator and presidential candidate (PL-RJ) admitting that .

According to Gama, Flávio’s speech may have been a personal attempt to seek resources for his father’s project, but it does not reflect any funding or even initial negotiations with Vorcaro or people close to the former banker.

“I’ve already spoken to his team [Flávio Bolsonaro]. I have absolutely no resources coming from this person or the companies he or Fabiano Zettel are part of,” Gama told Sheet.

“He [Flávio]as a family, as a person interested in the project, because we are talking about his father’s story, it is clear that he has prospected with several people for support, introducing new investors, new supporters. But there is no document, contract or transfer from that person [Vorcaro] and also of companies she represents.”

Information about the transfers was revealed by the website The Intercept Brasil this Wednesday (13). According to the publication, the former banker paid R$61 million to finance the film.

The publication also showed dialogues between Vorcaro and Flávio Bolsonaro about the transfers. In a statement, Flávio confirmed that he had asked Vorcaro for money for the film, but denied having received benefits.

“It is necessary to separate the innocent from the criminals. In our case, what happened was a son, seeking private sponsorship for a private film about his own father’s story. Zero public money”, he stated.

Federal deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP), in the Bolsonaro government, would also have been an intermediary in the negotiations. Frias did not respond to the report about the former banker’s possible financing.

Go Up Entertainment told Sheet not being able to reveal the source of fundraising for the film. According to the company, all funds come from outside the country and are protected by a confidentiality agreement. “This is a legitimate contractual and regulatory prerogative, guaranteed to financiers of projects structured under the private investment regime, and which this producer is obliged to observe.”

The company also says that, “without prejudice to the above restrictions and with the purpose of ruling out unfounded speculation, Go Up Entertainment categorically states that, among the more than a dozen investors that make up the group of financiers of the feature film ‘Dark Horse’, there is not a single cent coming from Mr. Daniel Vorcaro, Banco Master or any other company under its corporate control”.

According to the producer, the cinematographic project was structured within a private model of audiovisual development, “through articulations, partnerships and legitimate mechanisms of the national and international entertainment market, without the use of public resources”.

“It is important to highlight, furthermore, that conversations, project presentations or negotiations that may be held with potential supporters and businesspeople do not, in and of themselves, constitute the implementation of an investment, corporate participation or transfer of resources — and any conclusion to the contrary is unfounded”, he states in a note.

According to Gama, however, there was not even any initial conversation or negotiation with Vorcaro or people close to the banker. “In the facts we have here, there is nothing related to Mr. Daniel Vorcaro,” stated Gama.

“Of all the investors who came to us, more than ten, none of them are part of his conglomerate [Vorcaro]. They are other companies. American companies operating in American territory [sem relação com Vorcaro]”.

Go Up is headquartered in the United States and has an address registered with the IRS on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo.
