Almost three and a half years after the second round of the 2022 presidential election, the absolute majority of voters say they do not regret their vote in that election. This is what the new round of .
Of the total sample that answered the question “Did you regret your vote for president in 2022 or not?”, 91% of those interviewed said they did not regret their choice. Another 8% say the opposite.
That year, (PT) faced the former president (PL), then in office, in a tight dispute that divided the country. The PT member won with 50.9% of the votes, against 49.1% for his opponent. It was the closest election since redemocratization.
The distribution is similar when the result is broken down by who voted for each candidate.
Among Lula’s voters in 2022, 89% say they do not regret their vote, while 11% say they do. In this group, 1% declared that they did not know how to answer (due to survey rounding, the results do not add up to 100%).
The same pattern appears among those who say they voted for Bolsonaro in that election: 94% responded that they did not regret their choice, while 6% said they did.
Datafolha interviewed 2,004 Brazilians aged 16 or over on May 12th and 13th. The maximum margin of error is two percentage points, and the confidence level is 95%. The research is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under code BR-00290/2026.
The result shows stability in relation to previous surveys. In April, of the total sample, 90% said they did not regret voting for president, while 10% said they regretted it. In March, the rates were the same.
Among Lula voters, the conviction rate was 87% in April and 89% in March. Among those who voted for Bolsonaro, the percentage had been 94% in April and 91% in March.
The results of the survey are not prognostic, that is, they do not intend to anticipate what will come out of the polls. They form a portrait of the interviewees’ opinions at the time the researchers went into the field.
