The pre-candidate for Palácio do Planalto and president of Missão, Renan Santos, believes he can win over part of the electorate of also pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and take him out of the dispute for the second round of the October elections.
Santos’ assessment is that the movement is possible after the wear and tear suffered by Flávio, who had private conversations with Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, revealed by the newspaper The Intercept Brazil.
In an interview with Poder360Renan declared that his candidacy has a new space within the Brazilian right. “I see myself rising in the polls, yes. I see myself taking Flávio out of the 2nd round”, he stated.
The president of Missão believes that voters are no longer supporting the Bolsonaro family after the conversations were leaked and that, as a result, Bolsonaro militancy would be “disappearing”.
“They gave up on Flávio. I think yesterday [quarta-feira (20)] It was the day that everyone said: “Okay, I’m tired, I’m not going to stay anymore, I can’t do so much cleaning anymore,” he concluded.
According to , released this week, Renan Santos has 6.9% of voting intentions in the first round, after a fall from Flávio Bolsonaro, who now holds 34.3% against 47% for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

In addition to the deterioration in his image caused by his involvement with Daniel Vorcaro, Flávio has suffered the abandonment of allies previously considered a key player for the 2026 elections.
On Thursday (21), senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) minimized the recent information discovered by the press about the Banco Master case, but also avoided declaring support for Flávio on the issue, despite being president of a party allied to the senator’s candidacy for Planalto.
“I’m not here to defend or accuse Senator Flávio. He has to be investigated, like everyone else, as I am. And, if he’s innocent, let his innocence be recognized. If he’s guilty, he has to pay exemplarily”, he defended in an interview with TV Clube, an affiliate of Globo.
Damage containment
After pressure from the media surrounding the case, Flávio Bolsonaro adopted emergency strategies to try to contain electoral attrition.
On Wednesday night (20), a change in the pre-campaign communications team was announced, with the departure of coordinator Marcello Lopes. With the change, the pre-campaign is in charge of publicist Eduardo Fischer, who takes over the position.
In a statement, Flávio’s team stated that Marcello was with the pre-candidate on Wednesday afternoon, when he announced that he could no longer collaborate with the team. The departure was made by mutual agreement, according to them.

Marcello had been criticized by Flávio’s allies and members of the PL because of his handling of the senator’s response to the crisis, since the release of the video in which the parliamentarian tries to explain himself about his relationship with Vorcaro.
Another containment measure by the Liberal Party was to commission a survey to measure the political impact of the crisis. According to reports made to Globothe survey will serve as a basis for the party to decide the next steps in the senator’s electoral strategy after the wear and tear caused by the publication of the The Intercept Brazil.
