The municipal building, in the Madrid town of Algete, changes its name. Now it will be called the Cruz Epifanio Fernández building, in honor of an illustrious neighbor who has been declared Favorite Son of the Villa de Algete. The City Council approved the change this Thursday in an extraordinary plenary session held behind closed doors, a detail that has motivated the opposition’s rejection, since, they denounce, it suppresses transparency and citizen participation in a matter of public relevance.
