Swiss police are investigating Thursday’s knife attack at Winterthur train station as an act of terrorism. The security forces discovered that the thirty-one-year-old attacker had in the past spread the propaganda of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS), informs TASR according to reports from AFP and DPA agencies.
To an assault in which the offender stabbed three people it happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. The Swiss newspaper Blick reported, that they obtained a video of the man after running out of the station. shouting “Allahu akbar” (God is greatest).
The injured are Swiss citizens aged 28, 43 and 52, who were taken to hospitals. One of them suffered life-threatening injuries, but it was not immediately clear which of the victims. Winterthur is located near Zurich in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Approximately 123,000 inhabitants live in it.
