A 19-year-old woman had the right leg bitten by a sharkon the afternoon of this Monday (1st), at Boa Viagem beachin Recife, Pernambuco. The information is from the portal g1.
The victim, identified as Marcela Vitória de Lima Santos, was rescued by lifeguards and other bathers at the site. She was taken to Hospital Alfa, in the Boa Viagem neighborhood, and then transferred to Hospital da Restauração, in the center of Recife.

In an interview with TV Globothe cousin of the victim Jonas André de Lima said that he was the one who took Marcela from the sea. “She said she was going to take a shower, go for a swim, and, suddenly, the shark attacked (…) It was the moment she was attacked and she was screaming: ‘Jonas, Jonas’, calling my name”, he declared.
This was the second incident in two days in the state involving a shark. Not Sunday (31st), an 11-year-old boy was bitten on the hand and thighon Piedade beach, in Jaboatão dos Guararapes.
The boy was taken to Hospital da Restauração in very serious condition. He had his leg amputated. The boy’s current health status is stable.
