Presenter José Luiz Datena stated this Wednesday, 3rd, that his candidacy for federal deputy in the 2026 elections is “almost certain”. He was invited to run by vice-president Geraldo Alckmin and pre-candidate for the senate Márcio França.
According to Datena, there are only a few details left to confirm the candidacy. He praised the two allies and said he was honored with the invitation.
Datena highlighted that Alckmin and França “think about the good of the country”. The presenter will compete for the PSB (Brazilian Socialist Party), a party to which he is affiliated.
In 2024, at the time in the PSDB, Datena ran for Mayor of São Paulo and finished in fifth place, with 1.84% of the votes.
