The team arrives at its debut with a worrying sequence of six games without achieving a victory and without being able to leave the field without being leaked. In 2026, they lost 5-1 to Austria.
Panama, currently 34th in the FIFA rankings, is dreaming of its first points in the history of a World Cup (since in its only previous participation, in 2018, it did not win). In a friendly preparatory match for the World Cup, they lost to Brazil 6-2.
