The 37-year-old driver of the car did not survive the collision with a truck on the I/64 road between Žabokreki nad Nitra and the partisan district of Malá Bielica on Wednesday morning. The police are investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident, the investigator has started criminal prosecution for the crime of manslaughter. TASR was informed about this by the Trenčín regional police spokesperson Petra Klenková.
“According to the information obtained so far, the 27-year-old driver of a Volvo truck drove into the oncoming part of the road for unknown reasons, where a collision occurred with a Kia Ceed passenger car driven by a 37-year-old female driver.Klenková described.
According to her, the driver of the passenger car suffered injuries from which, unfortunately, she died at the scene of the accident. “All emergency services were on the scene. The truck driver was taken to hospital for treatment. He was subjected to a breath test, which ended with a negative result, as well as a test for the presence of narcotic and psychotropic substances.“, she zoomed in.
An expert from the road transport department was called to the scene, the section of the road remained impassable for the necessary time to document the accident. “The circumstances, causes and degree of culpability of this tragic event are the subject of further investigation,” added Klenková.
