On Friday, December 20 shortly after 7:00 p.m. there was a huge disaster in the German city of Magdeburg. The suspect, 50-year-old Taleb A., drove his car into the crowd at the Christmas markets. At least 5 people did not survive the incident, including a 9-year-old child. As he writes, it was about André Gleißner. Other victims are women aged 45, 52, 67 and 75.
The boy’s mother, Désirée, posted his photo on social media and dedicated a sad message to heaven. “Let my little bear fly around the world again. André did nothing to anyone. He was with us on earth for only 9 years. why you Why just… I don’t understand. You are now with grandma and grandpa in heaven. They missed you so much. How we miss you here now. You will always live in our hearts, I promise,” his devastated mother wrote in heartbreaking words.
Suspect Taleb A. was brought before a judge on Saturday evening, according to the police, he remains in custody. Investigators say the suspect acted alone and there is currently no indication that a second perpetrator was present. The motive for his act was not immediately clear. The prosecutor’s office assumes that it could have been the suspect’s dissatisfaction with the treatment of refugees from Saudi Arabia by the German authorities.
