Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was recognized by a jury in New York on Wednesday in a renewed process as guilty of rape of actress Jessica Mannová at the Hotel in Manhattan in 2013. TASR reports it with reference to world agencies.

In the original process, the jury in New York Weinstein condemned in March 2020 to 23 years in prison for sexual assault and rape. However, the Court of Appeal in New York annulled this decision for procedural errors in April 2024 and ordered the renewal of the proceedings. He justified this in particular by the fact that as evidence was admitted by testimonies that were not part of the indictment.

Meanwhile, these two allegations have also been accused of a sexual assault on the then 16-year-old actress Kaje Sokola born in Poland. At this point, however, the jury created mostly women could not agree on the verdict, according to AFP, it will try on Thursday.

Weinstein rejects all allegations and claims that his relations with women were consensual. He is currently serving a 16-year imprisonment for sexual assault, to which he was sentenced in a separate case in February 2023 in Los Angeles.

Weinstein has accused more than 100 women of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior, including prominent actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Uma Thurman. The renewed process was led by prosecutors from the Office of the District Prosecutor Manhattan Alvin Bragg.
